The cookie we set

• Name — aslanway.locale
• Purpose — remembers whether you are reading the English or Korean version, so that returning to the site does not send you back to language detection.
• Set when — you visit any page; it records the language segment you are on.
• Duration — one year from your most recent visit.
• Type — functional. It is first-party, contains only a two-letter language code, and is never shared.

What we do not use

No analytics cookies, no advertising or retargeting pixels, no social media trackers, no session recording, and no cross-site identifiers. The site does not use local storage or similar technologies to identify you.

Third-party requests

Web fonts are loaded from Google's font servers. This does not set a cookie, but the request itself discloses your IP address and user-agent to Google. Blocking those hosts leaves the site fully usable in fallback fonts.

Controlling it

You can delete or block the cookie in your browser settings. The only effect is that the site will fall back to detecting your language from your browser settings on each visit, and you can always switch language manually in the header.

If we ever add analytics or any non-essential cookie, we will ask for your consent before setting it and update this page first.
